Make a difference and Become Host Home Provider

Do you have extra room in your home and in your heart for a person with disabilities? If yes, providing host home service may be an option for you. This service gives you the opportunity to give back to the community in a way that is rewarding, exciting, and challenging.

Host home services are sometimes called adult foster care for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. You welcome a person in services into your heart, home, and family by simply incorporating them into your day to day life while providing the supports and services the team determines are important to the person’s quality of life.

MK Legacy is committed to making quality placements that last years. This means that we try to match the person in services to the host home provider, the family, and the neighborhood/community. To do this right, it takes time. It may take six months or more to find the placement(s) with the highest probability of long term success. We hope that you understand that this person-centered focus is not only in the best interests of the person served, it is also in the best interests of you and your family. Please be patient.

This journey can be a wonderful, enlightening experience. The MK Legacy team will support and encourage, as well as truly appreciate you throughout the journey, but the most difficult step is the first one. Just send us your application and we will schedule you to attend “An Introduction to Host Home Services”. We look forward to getting to know you!
