Residential Services

We strive to develop homes where people can be themselves, where they feel loved and care for as a valued member of a family and community, and where they are accepted and respected for who they are.

Our Host Homes are committed to establishing and maintaining residential placements where people can develop relationships with household members and community members while developing skills related to enhancing socially valued roles like friend, volunteer, renter, consumer, and citizen.

Residential Services is a person centered program committed to establishing and maintaining residential alternatives where people in services are afforded opportunities to develop relationships with household members and community members while developing skills related to the enhancing socially valued roles like friend, volunteer, renter, consumer, and citizen.  All placement are community based, either in a host home or PCA (personal care alternative) home.

Host homes provide services and supports in the home of community member who is thoroughly screened and trained.  Placements are made only after careful consideration of the match between the person in services, the host home provider (HHP), the HH family, pets, and the physical layout of the home.  HHPs are independent contractors who provide the person centered services and supports outlined by the the interdisciplinary team, including, but not limited to supervision and habilitation.

PCA services are provided in an environment that does not provide 24 hour supervision, but provides access to 24 hour supports.  The person in services may live alone or with housemates.  MK Legacy provides direct support professionals to assure health, safety, and habilitation services are provided outlined by the interdisciplinary team.

All homes are generally limited to two permanent people in services; however, a third person in services is allowable under limited circumstances with approval of the interdisciplinary teams of all three people in services, the community centered board, and the division for developmental disabilities.
